A voice during a near death experience told then 12-year-old, Harold Cameron that he had a purpose in life, but it took 4 decades before the truth of that message registered in him. Harold almost died from appendicitis at a young age, but was given a second chance at life. He’s saddened to admit that he’s nearly thrown away that gift countless times in the years that followed. One may not blame him for the many times he’s wanted to give up. It’s been anything but a smooth journey. Severely abused by his mother and abandoned as a child, Harold suffered with mental illness most of his adult years. Despite his own struggles though, he became a crusader, always looking for causes and ways to help other people. He failed to realize any higher purpose in what he was doing, however - he just knew that helping people was the right thing to do. He’d learned that by watching his Dad. He says what really inspired him was watching his Dad forgive his Mom after all the years of horror and stand by her when she developed Alzheimer’s."
